Elementary and straightforward marinade for shish kabobs! I used olive oil vs. veg. along with low sodium soy sauce. For the mustard, I used dijon left out the salt and cut the pepper in half. I reserved some of the marinade for the veggies and marinated the meat all solar day in a ziploc bag. I skewered the veggies (adding some cherry-red tomatoes) and meat separate basing the veggies with the reserved marinade. Overall, very tasty!

Worcestershire and soy sauce have a lot of salt to begin with, so when I saw calculation more common salt, I passed. This was a proficient call. In addition, unlike some marinades with soy sauce, this didn't impart an oriental flavor, which I'm not fond of with steak; some other plus. The flavors came together well with none dominating some other and with that practiced old beefiness flavor coming through. I'm a contempo convert to marinades, preferring only seasoned meats, but I'd make this over again.

Swell beefiness marinade, the lemon adds a nice twist and some nice flavor. I but had an 60 minutes to marinate, so I let them sit in fridge for i/2 hour and on the counter for 1/two hour. My kabobs turned out great!! Thanks for a great recipe, I'll be using this marinade for manifestly steak too.
04/08/2015
I made this for an outdoor dinner party for viii people and doubled the recipe. Used low sodium soy sauce and switched the vegetable oil for olive oil which was perfect! I also added more veggies such as yellow squash and zucchini and yellow, red, orange and green peppers. I served the kabobs with basmati rice, a Greek salad and a baguette of freshly broiled french bread. Non but was the recipe a cute colorful presentation, my guests loved it and actually asked for the actress sauce that was the marinade. Definitely would make again!
11/26/2012
I did everything I could to mess this upward and they still tasted great. I merely had 4 hours to marinate then I went with that. And then information technology started raining and I didn't grill. I ended upwardly putting the veggies in a pan and cooking half manner done. Then I threw in the meat and browned it. Poured the marinade over brought to a boil and did a quick stir fry. It was delicious and even my picky husband liked it. I served it with Classic Rice Pilaf on AR past Chef John. Perfect pair. I wouldn't change a thing.
08/07/2011
The only modify I fabricated was to exit out the mushrooms since my family doesn't like them. Nosotros marinated the meat a full of 8 hours and served over a bed of wild rice. My 8 year old had seconds and said this recipe is "a keeper!" We all loved information technology! Thanks for sharing this delicious summer BBQ care for.
08/08/2011
Our first fourth dimension making kabobs. We marinated the meat (but not the mushrooms) in a vacuum-seal bag for two hours and ditched the leftover marinade rather than saving for basting. Turned out great!
01/31/2012
In that location is a mistake that most people do, the shish kabob are no the ane in the photo. Actually the shish is the thing that nosotros use to grill meat (the wooden stick inthe picture). The kabobs, in arabic kabab, is footing meat with garlic and special spices for the kabab. Anyway the 1 in the pic is simply chosen grilled meat, and nosotros usually grill with it onions. Bon appetit.

Made this concluding dark - a huge hit! I marinated the beef (used tenderloin) and mushrooms separately. I too left out the extra salt and no ane added table salt at the dinner table. I also used separate skewers for the meet and vegetables, so I could command the cooking a bit ameliorate - veggies cooked at medium and beefiness on loftier. The butcher mentioned that the tenderloin could become tough if overcooked - cooked information technology for nearly 10 minutes and it was perfect - medium rare. Used the marinade from the mushrooms for basting on the grill.
05/27/2016
It was ok but I'm sure my (not so peachy) cooking had a lot to do with information technology. My meat manager suggested using a sirloin steak that was on auction. That cutting wasn't hearty enough. Tin anyone suggest the cutting of beef for kabobs? Thanks.
09/03/2011
This marinade is awesome!!The ingredients are non overpowering yet they just enhance the excellent flavor of the kabobs.I will use this recipe again and for other beef dishes!
04/17/2014
i honey this marinade, but instead of marinating the meat for viii hours and then adding the mushrooms for another 8 hours i just made a double batch of marinade, and put the mushrooms in another baggie and did them together for 8 hours, turned out wonderful
01/19/2012
Perfect marinade! I've used this a couple of times now and everybody loves information technology! The only change I make is to reduce the common salt--I use a heavy 1/2 teaspoon. I marinate the meat as long as I can--sometimes just a half a twenty-four hours and it comes out tender and flavorful! Definitely a keeper!
10/22/2014
Super like shooting fish in a barrel marinade! All of these ingredients are staples in our household. I currently have filet chunks marinating for kabobs...everything smelled groovy, and so I look they'll sense of taste even meliorate. I ditched the additional salt since the soy/'shire/mustard combo have loftier table salt contents. Ready to fire upwards the grill...
07/04/2012
VERY tasty marinade! Fabricated several times, each a big hit with everyone. Changes I fabricated was omit the salt, added a dash of hot sauce, and added some red pepper flakes. Definitely a keeper.
04/eighteen/2015
Love this recipe. Simply good meat is a must. We bought a steak the first time, marinaded it for two hours and it was amazing. The 2d time nosotros used a roast, marinaded it for 24 hours and it was too chewy for u.s. to stop.
10/06/2013
This is one of my favorite recipes for Shish Kabobs! I also love it with chicken.
05/24/2013
The flavor is good, but quite strong. I would go with but marinating and no basting, or no marinating and only basting. The veggie skewers (which I did separate from the meat), I basted a couple times through grilling and they were perfect!
01/07/2015
Many times at present best on the grill but still dandy in the broiler in winter months.
07/05/2013
When my husband took a seize with teeth of this he just stood there, broad-eyed and his rima oris agape in disbelief at how practiced this was. Definitely going to be making this once again and again. Information technology was already very salty without calculation the salt. I also put some summertime squash and carmine tomatoes on the skewers. Height round worked really well for this recipe.
04/03/2015
The flavor of this is amazing. Good cooked nether a broiler when I don't want to utilize the grill. Serve over rice.
02/xi/2015
Succulent! I followed the recipe exactly. I almost got lazy and threw out the backlog marinade, simply I was so glad I didn't. Heated up, information technology made a peachy gravy. I actually used my broiler instead of a grill, only it worked perfectly.
07/24/2013
This is probably the all-time recipe I take found on this website! The marinade is and so versatile. I use the marinade on just the vegetables most of the fourth dimension and it comes out then fantastic. I have relatives over and they all wanted to take this recipe home with them. I recently used the marinade on some pork loin and beef for kabobs and information technology just infuses the meat with so much flavor. My just tip when making this recipe is to cut the vegetables in behemothic chunks so that when yous beginning to become to the lesser of the bowl, you don't loose the ingredients in the marinade. This is because at that place volition be a lot left over on the lesser. Similar I said, I dear this recipe and I will exist using it for my upcoming wedding ceremony!
06/01/2013
memorial day hit, marinated the steak for 1 ane/two days and turned everytime I opened the fridge. Meat was tender. I used sirloin steak cut into cubes. Very good will brand again for sure.
09/21/2014
I followed the recipe and my family unit loved it! This would also be a peachy marinade for a inexpensive or tough slice of meat.
05/17/2016
We made this dish for company and information technology was delicious-ate the leftovers warmed up in a pita with Tzatziki sauce. Yum!!
02/21/2012
Awesome! I followed the recipe every bit written, w/the exception of the black pepper (I hate it) and I chose non to marinate my veggies, just the beef. Awesome. Did I say that already? Our meat was fifty-fifty a bit tough (not the best cut of meat to use for this) and information technology was yet awesome. Keen flavor that enhanced the natural beef flavor. This volition be a staple beefiness marinade in the LTH business firm. THANKS so much mnmike!
12/28/2016
I've used this marinade dozens of times to rave reviews every single time. I prefer to let the meat marinade for only 2-4 hours. I discover that it merely tastes like marinade if I let it go the 8+ hours the recipe recommends. I like meat to gustation similar meat. Using a shorter marinade time just enhances the flavor instead of changing information technology. I normally utilise it with beef simply information technology too works well with craven.
03/15/2015
Oh MY Gosh! This is absolutely crazy expert. Don't hesitate to attempt it. I love that it's only everyday ingredients nosotros all have in the house, no special trips to provender for weird ingredients. Just expert ordinary food. I can't look to make this over again.
07/26/2016
Keep this one handy. It's a definite keeper. We used NY strips the first time and then ribeyes the second time. Both were excellent.
05/thirty/2016
Marinated overnight and added the mushrooms (as well as some eggplant cubes which I salted and allowed to "sweat" before adding to the marinade) in the morning. Super tasty
08/10/2014
I honey this recipe! This has go my go-to marinade. I've made it endless times over about five years. Everyone is diddled away when I use this marinade. I exercise recommend using a meat mallet on tougher meats though
09/05/2014
The marinade tasted awesome, information technology gave the meat a really expert taste. We cooked the shish kebabs on a small charcoal grill,so information technology took a bit longer(like approx. 45mins). Thank you for the receipe idea!
05/27/2013
Was hesitant to follow this recipe, only because it didn't have as many reviews as another recipe, but I'm glad I did. It was delicious. Used all the ingredients exactly as listed except mushrooms, and merely marinated the top sirloin about 4-i/2 hrs. I also didn't baste the meat, but didn't need to, it turned out great. Used dark-green peppers, onions, Campari tomatoes, yellow squash and green zucchini. Will employ this recipe again.
06/08/2014
Just change I fabricated was to Non add together the common salt. Unless the original recipe called for low-sodium soy sauce, no actress table salt is needed. In fact, we idea it was still on the salty side so next fourth dimension I will attempt it with low sodium soy sauce and add simply table salt to taste. I skewered the mushrooms and meat together and the onion and pepper seperately and then the veggies could cook longer. Everyone here enjoyed this afterwards about 10 hours of total marinade time. Definitely making this over again!
08/31/2013
This was an excellent marinade! We pretty much followed it verbatim and used some different veggies. I would probably use reduce sodium soy sauce the next fourth dimension we make information technology nevertheless because it was just a little on the salty side for our taste, but it was still very tasty.
05/25/2015
Was then piece of cake and really yummy. I used sirloin every bit well every bit LAMB (so then expert!!). I added a bigger selection of vegetables; listed veggies plus whole mini red, yellow and orange bell peppers, zucchini and snap peas and salary wrapped whole pearl onions (yum). I also used separate skewers for the meat and veggies to better command melt time for each. Served over jasmine rice and all my kids and husband loves them. Will definitely make these again!!!
05/01/2012
Very skilful.
08/01/2016
These are amazing! I used to use a different marinade but I wanted to try something else and I'yard so glad I did. I but loved this marinade and then did the residue of the family. Due to a few people in our family having sodium restricted diets, I used 'sweetness soy' and left out the additional salt. Someone asked what type of beef to employ for shish kabobs and I e'er use stew meat. This will be my go-to recipe from now on when grilling shish kabobs. It's important to use the rest of the marinade for basting, like the recipe suggests. It really put information technology over the superlative!
09/29/2015
Made this a few times now, and the whole family quite likes it. The other times I only marinated the meat for a couple hours and the mushrooms not at all - this time, nevertheless; I marinated the full time and the mushrooms likewise. I volition definitely marinate the mushrooms from now on - and so much meliorate! The meat I institute was as well salty marinating for the full fourth dimension though, so I think I'll cut the salt in half next time.
09/25/2016
Very delicious! I did not add any salt as no need with some of the ingredients existence salty enough, used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, dijon mustard, low sodium soy sauce, sirloin steak. I did add together pineapple and cherry tomatoes to the kabobs. We all loved the flavor! Will definitely use this recipe again! Thanks for sharing!
03/xx/2017
Added red pepper flakes to give it a kick
09/xviii/2017
just fabricated this recipe tonight and did non change a thing! Everybody loved it ! The meat was very tender and the flavor was amazing. The edges of the meat and veggies were chocolate-brown and crispy while the rest was perfectly cooked. Tip: If you lot are using skewers that are larger than the sparse bamboo ones, make sure you cut your veggies pretty big. And make sure y'all get large mushrooms. I sliced an average ruddy and greenish bell pepper into fourths and so cut each one of those in half. If veggies are too pocket-size they carve up and fall of skewers. I will be making these again for sure.
09/27/2016
Similar others on hither I used olive oil vs vegetable oil, I used low sodium soy and sea common salt vs common salt...the marinade is one I will exist using for EVERYTHING at present...and so expert, I marinated overnight. My only trouble was my veggies weren't as done as I would accept liked them(I used zucchini, summertime squash, red bell peppers and onion and potatoes) I par boiled the potatoes before I skewered them and then thankfully those were perfect! Too has anyone tried stew meat for this? Our meat got a little as well tough, The cut I bought was Texas style something because they didn't take sirloin.
08/03/2019
I didn't add the table salt, thank goodness. It's still a little too salty but that could be my pregnancy taste buds because this is pretty shut to my own steak marinade. Anyways, I added five or six shakes of basil, cut down on the lemon a tad bit and added two cloves of garlic. All in all my whole family unit was very happy with it, and then that makes me very happy with it. (Minus the super salty flavor, only again I arraign the pregnancy)
06/18/2018
The proportions are off in this recipe. I fabricated nine skewers and there was non enough marinade for all of the beef and vegetables. Marinade is too very deadening then I added 1 tbsp of sesame oil, another ane/iv cup of olive oil, lime juice and zest instead of lemon (lime and beef go much improve together than lemon), ane/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of Asian Sesame Vinaigrette salad dressing, 1/4 cup of brown sugar. This was a drastic flavour improvement and as well increased the amount of marinade. Do not skimp on the common salt and pepper, the meat and vegetables need the seasoning. A large basin works fine, there is no need to waste plastic bags for the marinade. I parboiled the onions and carmine peppers for about five minutes to soften them a lilliputian otherwise with but 15 minutes on the grill you cease up with raw vegetables on your skewers which I think is gross. I do non enjoy biting into a chunk of raw onion. Trust me on the parboil method. You do not want to boil them to mush or yous tin't skewer them. By doing this, the onions and peppers finish cooking on the grill and the onions in detail can start to caramelize a bit. I but used vidalia onions, mushroom caps and red peppers as green peppers can be too bitter. 15 minutes on the grill and the marinade turned into basting sauce, these concluded up very good. It would not have been a success if the vegetables went on the grill raw. Be certain you eddy the leftover marinade if you programme on using it as basting sauce or you will exist basting your skewers
08/12/2014
It was expert only alittle salty for my sense of taste. Adjacent time I volition use low sodium soy.
09/22/2014
This recipe is our to go to when we are looking for a quick yummy dinner. Now that it is summertime I'k adding fresh peppers from the garden. Thank you for sharing this recipe
06/23/2014
Made these for our camping ground trip and they were a hit! I had the beefiness marinating in a ziplock bag and the veggies all washed and cut up in some other ziplock. When I got there I put them on the skewers and they cooked quickly and were succulent!
05/26/2016
This was a last minute conclusion to have beef kabobs so I could simply marinate for 2 1/2 and it was nonetheless very flavorful. I followed recipe except added pineapple chunks instead of mushrooms since I didn't have mushrooms. Put everything (except pineapples) in aught purse, seasoned with Goya seasoning, then added the marinade and let sit in refrigerator for 2 1/2 hrs. Put them on skewers and broiled in a pre-heated broiler for eight minutes each side. Served over beef flavored rice. Added corn on the cob every bit a side. Really quick meal and even quicker if you are marinating the twenty-four hour period before! This is a keeper.
04/14/2013
My family actually liked it, although we all agreed it was a tad too salty, and that was after I reduced the salt. I would advise completely removing the salt from the recipe, equally most soya sauces are salty plenty to carry this recipe. I think I will add a footling more zippo to it adjacent fourth dimension with some dried chili peppers. All in all though, quite satisfactory.
07/xi/2019
We followed the recipe here and it turned out beautifully. The steak was tender and juicy, the vegetables were great and the Mushrooms were dynamite.
10/07/2016
This is a great recipe! I skewered the veges separately from the meat and mushrooms, Grilled the veges for 6 or 7 minutes then moved them to the other side of the grill to end cooking away from the coals. I put the steak and mushroom skewers on and cooked them for about 4 mins on each side. Soooooo skillful! Cheers Mnmike, your Mom was right on!
06/29/2012
Excellent! Didn't change a matter and wouldn't even endeavor!
05/03/2015
This recipe was fantabulous. I didn't have enough regular soy sauce and so I used sweet soy sauce.
01/16/2017
Fabricated marinade every bit instructed. Used both top sirloin and chicken and marinaded overnight. Otherwise, followed directions and it was awesome!!! Served information technology over an olive oil and garlic wheat cous cous!! This is a keeper!!!!
04/07/2015
These tasted so flavorful but a fiddling too salty practise NOT add the 1 i/2 tsp salt.
07/21/2019
Great recipe as is. Longer marinating fourth dimension makes the meat more than tender.
08/03/2012
Oustanding. I fabricated this recipes exactly as written except marinated meat for just nearly iv hours. Succulent! Thanks
09/18/2016
I omitted the salt. The Soy sauce in it is salty plenty. Information technology was astonishing! Nosotros even used it on our shrimp, chicken & beef kabobs. Delicious!
10/29/2015
Thanks for sharing!!!! My family & friends loves this recipe. I didn't change anything. We fifty-fifty utilise this our stakes.
07/15/2015
I fabricated this twice, I had a lot of compliments. It'south very adept, makes even ranch steak tender
05/10/2013
So then and then good. Used sirloin. The marinade is delicious!
07/29/2017
I made this today. I idea it was very good. Like some of the other reviews I did not add together table salt. Next fourth dimension I would endeavour low sodium soya sauce. This is a keeper.
08/06/2013
This was very tasty ! I usually just marinate the beef in italian dressing, but this was a million times better. Was not sure about the soy sauce (I dont commonly care for the taste}. But this was amazing!! Volition definitely use over again for other beefiness recipes.
06/21/2013
I tried this marinade last night and it was a large hit with my family. Both of my extremely fussy children had second helpings of the steak! I made a few tweaks by omitting the mushrooms, doubling the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce, and cutting the salt in half. All in all an excellent recipe. Thanks for sharing!
11/22/2018
Simple and tasty - exactly how grilling should exist. Exist sure to marinate equally written for proficient flavor.
06/22/2015
I fabricated these for my family and they loved them even the ane'due south who don't like this type of food ate the out of them! We used the verbal recipe and it was so yummy nosotros couldn't stop eating them!!! Thanks
04/12/2013
Alright. My husband doesn't want it again tho.
07/27/2017
Was so skillful, fabricated it once again few days subsequently. Definitely saved this one!
11/29/2015
Friggen crawly! Fabricated these for a bunch of racers later on a triathlon and it was heaven on world, they were very well received.
02/15/2014
I was searching for a marinade that sounded good and this striking the spot. I, similar many others, omitted the additional salt and I was running depression on lemon juice so I used less than what was called for. Also, considering I really enjoy ginger, I added several tablesppons of fresh grated ginger. The recipe adjuster made information technology very easy for me to tweak for the group I needed to cook for (kabob for 50+)! Very impressed with the marinade and I conceptualize I will use it often in the hereafter
04/30/2020
these were practiced, easy to brand.
04/24/2017
Fabricated this for my married man with cubed boneless brusque ribs.cubed. Employ lime juice instead of lemon and no salt. My hubby loved it. Said it was i of the best marinades ever. will definitely make over again for shish k-bobs and other meat Than you.
05/31/2019
It'southward merely okay. I so wanted to like this recipe. I followed some of the other reviewers advice and omitted the salt only I think it needed the salt. It was rather banal. I marinated in the sauce for about 12 hours and and so grilled them. Whatsoever leftover meat and vegetables I didn't put on the grill, I combined with the chicken and vegetables from the "yummy honey chicken kebabs" recipe and marinated another several hours. I and then sautéed these together and added hoisin sauce and oyster sauce, common salt, sesame oil, minced garlic, and olive oil. Information technology was meliorate. I doubt I would try this again.
12/08/2017
I idea it was a piddling biting. Would not brand again
05/11/2014
Absolutely love this!! Has a wonderful season and my married man and kids (picky eaters) had seconds! Has anyone tried this with chicken? I'g curious to know how information technology came out!
07/21/2017
This tastes fantastic! I used top beef sirloin. The but affair I did differently was marinade both the meat and mushrooms together for about vi hours considering I didn't have enough time to marinate as the recipe states.
11/x/2017
Why would you add and so much salt when you have already Soy Sauce which is very salty to begin with? Also why would you lot use vegetable oil instead of olive oil? As well you demand some balsamic vinegar or cooking wine vinegar to remainder this out. The lemon juice will not be enough.
07/31/2018
Information technology was ok. Not really worth all the prep
11/11/2017
Recipe was perfection. Huge hit with our guests. Volition definitely brand it once more
06/25/2015
it was delicious! we didnt even marinade for so long so i can imagine how delicous with longer time in the season!
09/09/2016
I fabricated this dish for Labor 24-hour interval and everybody loved it. I will exist making this once more simply with a steak!
05/06/2013
Thought these were keen!! Did not add the salt. Never add together Common salt to annihilation that uses that much soy sauce. Also chose to use low sodium soy sauce.
09/12/2017
I added a piddling honey!
07/21/2016
Crawly!
06/09/2017
This is succulent!!! I love the flavor of the marinade. I really splurged and made this with filet mignon. It was so easy to cut the meat and the kabobs were super yummy. Corking recipe.
07/ten/2019
Excellent recipe! Followed the directions. Enjoyed this very much. Very easy. Cracking results. I would make this one again, and once again. Really enjoyed it. Just brand sure that you marinate your meet long enough (depending on the cut). I would definitely serve this to company with lots of veggies on the skewers. Thanks for posting!
06/01/2012
The marinade was a-mazing! Incredibly uncomplicated and tasty. I used Tri-Tip steaks cubbed up and marinated over night(the mean solar day of I marinated the bellpeppers and red onion and hr before grill time)! They were a hit with my family unit, my 4 year sometime ate 3 kabobs.
04/25/2016
Fantastic exactly equally is! I've used this marinade for pork tenderloin as well, really skillful. I'm also incredibly lazy then instead of making proper kebabs I've recently started mixing everything in a 9x13 pan with some of the marinade and broiling it, turning over often. Not bad flavor, will use once again and again and again!
ten/08/2018
I made this last dark and it was delicious! I only had time to marinate for a couple of hours, so I imagine it would exist even ameliorate with more time. Highly recommend.
05/22/2017
The just change I would make is to double the sauce. Spouse said it was the all-time kabobs I take ever made!!
07/05/2016
This was so skillful! I tripled it for 12 people, and they ate all of information technology. Will make it again. The steak and mushrooms in the marinade was delicious. This marinade actually brings out the steak flavor, The only change I made was on accident I increased the Worcestershire sauce and it still came out great!
06/01/2017
These were astonishing. I would recommend.
07/18/2019
Wonderful!!! Next time, I'm deleting the salt. My husband said information technology was perfect. It was a picayune salty to me. I did add squash to the skewers. It was a hit!
07/07/2014
It a groovy recipe!
10/05/2019
Followed the recipe and it came out great with a potent season. Only marinaded the top sirloin cutting up into cubes for 4 hours and that was plenty of time.
03/26/2019
fantastic! followed the recipe except i didn't marinate the mushrooms. i had leftover ingredients and virtually made them again the next nighttime! this is a keeper!
06/27/2015
I cut out the table salt and volition brand it over again family unit loved information technology
